Once For All is a high-growth, cloud-based, SaaS subscription business. Our technology helps our customers to manage their supply chain governance, risk management and compliance. We work across public and private sector and have over 250k customers across the UK across 20 different sectors including construction, transport, retail, hospitality education, facility and property management, manufacturing, local and central government.
Role Summary:
The Scheme Compliance Manager is a senior operational and technical leadership role within the Operational Governance function. Reporting directly to the Head of Operational Governance, this role is responsible for leading, managing, and developing a multi-disciplinary team of specialists.
The postholder will ensure that all specialist areas deliver high-quality, compliant, and continuously improving outputs that support the organisation’s schemes, operational processes, certifications, and commitments to risk management, quality assurance, and industry best practice.
This role will act as an operational leader, providing technical oversight, and central point of coordination for specialist workstreams. They will ensure consistency across subject matter areas, drive alignment of all scheme-related processes, and maintain high standards of governance, innovation, and delivery across the organisation.
The Scheme Compliance Manager will collaborate closely with the Scheme Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager, Resource & Planning Manager, and Customer Experience Manager within Operational Governance, and the wider business internal teams, external stakeholders, scheme providers, regulators, and buyers/suppliers, ensuring that the organisation remains trusted, credible, and compliant across all scheme operations.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Team Management
Line manage, coach, and develop the team of Scheme Specialists, ensuring capability, performance, and engagement across all disciplines.
Set clear objectives, priorities, and work plans that support Operational Governance strategies and operational delivery.
Provide professional guidance, support, and oversight for specialist subject matter areas.
Monitor workload distribution and ensure resourcing aligns with demand, projects, and organisational priorities.
Lead regular team meetings, 1:1s, and cross-specialist collaboration sessions to ensure cohesion and shared standards.
2. Governance, Quality & Compliance Oversight
Ensure all specialist activities align with internal governance frameworks, scheme rules, certification requirements, and regulatory obligations (including SSIP, ISO Standards, BSA processes, ESG frameworks, and internal scheme requirements.
Oversee the development, review, and maintenance of operational processes, guidance materials, and quality documentation across specialist areas, taking ownership of all operational scheme compliance and delivery processes.
Work with the Scheme Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager to review auditing, verification activities, corrective actions, formal investigations, and compliance monitoring.
Support the Head of Operational Governance in maintaining organisational certifications and accreditations, acting as delegated authority where appropriate.
Ensure risk management activities are undertaken across all specialisms, including analysis, reporting, and action tracking.
3. Cross-Scheme Alignment & Operational Delivery
Provide management oversight across all scheme specialist workstreams to ensure consistency, integration, and shared best practice.
Coordinate cross-functional initiatives, ensuring that specialist expertise is effectively embedded in key projects and organisational change.
Lead the harmonisation of processes and assessment methodologies across schemes (H&S, BSA, ESG, Verification).
Ensure that specialist contributions to scheme testing, rollout of new features, and operational changes are planned, delivered, and quality assured.
Work closely with Customer Operations, Product, Technology, and other internal teams to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery of assessments and services.
4. Innovation, Process Improvement & Digital Development
Drive continuous improvement across all specialist areas, using data, insights, and stakeholder feedback to propose enhancements.
Support and oversee the identification of training needs, capability gaps, and development opportunities across operational teams.
Champion the use of AI, automation, and digital tools within verification, assessment processes, and wider scheme operations.
Encourage specialists to use data analysis to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure personal and team involvement in user testing and implementation of new platform features, scheme updates, and operational processes.
5. Training and Development
Support the Scheme Trainer in identifying training and knowledge gaps, creating development plans, and delivering scheme training to internal stakeholders to ensure each scheme has sufficiently trained and competent assessors.
Support in the development and delivery of the Junior Technical Assessor program, providing support with training and knowledge insights, and mentorship where required.
Oversee the development of the Scheme Specialists, ensuring skills and knowledge gaps are identified, and adequate training resources.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & External Representation
Provide senior-level support at industry events, forums, audits, and external engagements.
Lead on the technical delivery of the Compliance Partner Program, attending initial enquiry meetings, planning and conducting audits, and programming a continual audit schedule across all compliance partners.
Oversee specialist participation in Marketplace Live events and represent the organisation as required.
Engage with third-party scheme providers, partners, auditors, and key stakeholders, ensuring strong relationships and effective performance management.
Support internal teams (Sales, Success, Operations) with buyer and supplier engagement, including the delivery of product and scheme update workshops and focus sessions, and introduction to scheme product sessions.
Act as a point of escalation for complex or sensitive issues that require specialist-level judgement or cross-disciplinary coordination.
7. Reporting, Insights & Performance Management
Oversee the production of KPI reports, audit findings, performance dashboards, compliance summaries, and trend analysis across specialist areas.
Present insights and recommendations to the Head of Operational Governance, senior stakeholders, and governance forums.
Ensure that data-driven decision-making is embedded in team operations, driving improvements that enhance accuracy, consistency, and customer experience.
Track actions, risks, and non-conformance investigations to ensure timely resolution and continual improvement.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong leadership experience managing technical or specialist teams.
Excellent understanding of governance, compliance, risk management, and quality assurance frameworks.
Formal qualification at Level 3 or above in H&S, environment, quality, risk management, or sustainability.
Experience in at least one specialist domain (H&S, BSA, ESG, Verification), with the ability to oversee others.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions and improvements.
Demonstrated experience in process development, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills – with strong conflict and escalation resolution experience.
Ability to operate strategically whilst also managing detailed operational priorities.
Desirable
Experience working within scheme governance, certification bodies, regulated environments, or supply chain assurance.
Strong understanding of automation, AI tools, and digital transformation initiatives.
Experience representing organisations at industry forums or audits.
ISO or SSIP experience (auditing, managing, or maintaining compliance).
Understanding of procurement processes and/or supply chain management.
